Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the shocking demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.

A Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after failing to get inside the residence. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the home, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now being held and denied bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
