Shock as Renowned South African DJ Shot Dead in the City of Johannesburg.
A renowned South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the country's largest city Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a country battling rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the city centre on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials stated the forty-year-old presenter was confronted by three suspects, with one shot at him before fleeing on foot.
The reason of the incident remains unclear and no one has been arrested are in custody, as per the official statement.
How It Happened
Police indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was leaving a premises in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.
He had spent several hours at the building overseeing the installation of safety equipment, which had been reportedly taken over by squatters, according to reports.
"Authorities believe the man was approached by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before fleeing the scene on foot," an official report confirmed.
Security camera video reportedly captured a suspect with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what resembled a guard's attire opening fire on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ tried to run away after he was hit but fell down across the street.
Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and it was not a robbery during the incident.
Crucial forensic evidence, like spent shells, were discovered at the crime scene.

Officials are asking members of the public who may have witnessed the attack to assist with the investigation.
"Evidence suggests they covered significant ground after the shooting, and officers have been following their trail to find their whereabouts," remarked an authority figure.

His sister, Nicole Stock, expressed the loved ones are reeling to process his death.
"I am devastated. I am shattered," she stated.
"It is clear he was a representative for countless citizens. He spoke out bravely about issues not many people were willing to speak about. This is a profound tragedy."
She requested the community to avoid sharing disturbing footage from the incident, noting this was an extremely painful time, above all for Stock's young family.
